Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed that there is an injury doubt over Marcus Rashford after the forward came off injured in the 2-1 win over Chelsea.
He also revealed that there are further doubts over the defensive duo Harry Maguire and Victor Lindelof after they too suffered injuries (via Man Utd).
The Red Devils are already without Paul Pogba, who may be out until December thanks to an ankle injury (via BBC).
Axel Tuanzebe, Nemanja Matic and Luke Shaw are also out and not expected back until after the international break.
The massive concern for the Norwegian coach will be the injury to Rashford, who has provided some comfort in the absence of depth in attacking areas. Anthony Martial missed the whole of September, and only returned for the Liverpool game midway through October as United were limited to just Rashford in the number nine role.
With six goal contributions in his last seven domestic games, the 22-year-old is a crucial cog in Old Trafford side’s well-oiled machine (via Transfermarkt). The statistic is made even more remarkable when you take into account the fact United have only scored eight goals in those seven games, showing the importance of the 36-cap, England international as per Transfermarkt.
In stark comparison, Martial has only recently returned from a thigh injury and Jesse Lingard has just a solitary assist at home to Rochdale this season. To rely on two struggling players to contribute attacking-wise could limit the north-west club as they look to continue their recent resurgence away from home.
Rashford is a far more crucial player for the Old Trafford giants than he gets credit for. Potentially missing the game against the Cherries really will not be good news for Solskjaer’s side in attack as the Englishman has been involved in more than his fair share of the club’s goals recently.
