With just hours remaining of this transfer window, Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have been left on tenterhooks as they await to discover if David Moyes can further strengthen his squad ahead of the deadline.
Chelsea’s Juan Mata has already been the marquee signing the club and supporters so desired, however there is still hope that with significant funds at his disposal, Moyes could have another busy two days ahead of him.
But instead of talking about possible arrivals at Old Trafford, Metro brings news of a potential departure from the club.
The paper claims that Portuguese winger Nani is heading to Inter Milan on loan for the rest of the season, with a view to a permanent deal.
The 27-year-old, who is currently sidelined with a hamstring injury, has been an inconsistent performer for Moyes’ troubled United side this term and it appears that the former Everton boss has decided to call time on the winger’s career at Old Trafford.
Although there is seemingly still work to be done on the deal, Nani, who joined United back in 2007, is expected to travel to the San Siro later today to complete the short-term move.
Nani only signed a new contract keeping him with the Red Devils until 2018 in the summer, but Moyes will instead include him as part of his winter clear out which has already seen Anderson and Fabio depart Old Trafford.
Is Moyes right to let Nani leave Old Trafford? Let us know your thoughts below.
