Everyone in the Football Transfer Tavern fully expects Manchester United winger Nani to depart the club during the current transfer window and today’s Mirror Football suggest that big-spending Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala want the Portuguese international.
The 26-year-old has been excluded from the Red Devils pre-season tour squad that will visit the Far East and Australia and that could ultimately see him leaving Old Trafford to make his way to Anzhi in a £12 million deal.
Former Red Devils boss Sir Alex Ferguson’s coach and friend Rene Meulensteen has just joined manager Guus Hiddink at Anzhi and the paper report this could see Nani linking up with his former coach in Russia.
Crystal Palace starlet Wilfried Zaha has already been recruited and David Moyes is likely to give the England youngster a chance to prove his worth in the upcoming tour as he sets about replacing Nani.
With just a year left on his current deal in Manchester and only 10 Premier League appearances last season, we expect that United would be happy to take £12 million from the Russian side if the interest and offer are acted upon.
Will Nani become the latest marquee name to sign up with Anzhi Makhachkala? Let us know your thoughts below.
