Manchester United plan player exchange to land Chelsea target

MirandaManchester United fans are divided in the Football Transfer Tavern after hearing the news that the club are willing to swap a midfield star to beat Chelsea to Atletico Madrid’s solid centre back.

According to The Express, Louis van Gaal is prepared to include Juan Mata in a deal to fight off competition from the Blues for Miranda.

The experienced La Liga centre half is 30-years-old and is valued at £24 million and would certainly be a good acquisition as van Gaal looks to strengthen United’s leaky defence.

Some Manchester United fans however are unhappy to hear the news of Mata potentially departing the club as he is a world class and experienced Premier League midfielder.

The others look smug as they sip their pints in the tavern, knowing it would really wind up Chelsea fans if they managed to snatch Miranda from underneath their noses by using their former fan favourite to lure him in.

Despite this, Chelsea have their fair share of former Atletico players with Diego Costa, Filipe Luis and also their goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois having spent two years on loan at the Vicente Calderon last season during their title winning seaso.

The former Atleti players formed a good relationship with the defender which Jose Mourinho will use to his advantage as he looks to sign the Brazilian international.

Manchester United fans. Do you think the Red Devils should use Mata as a bargaining chip to land Miranda? Let us know your thoughts below.
