Manchester United and Arsenal fans are interested to hear about the next rumour that has made it’s way to into the Football Transfer Tavern, this time courtesy of sources at SportsMole.
The Red Devils have made no secret of their desire to strengthen this summer, and it appears manager David Moyes has a former Arsenal midfielder in his sights.
Barcelona midfielder Alex Song looks set to leave the Camp Nou this summer, having struggled to nail down a regular first team place under Gerardo Martino.
Liverpool, AC Milan and Atletico Madrid are also understood to be interested in the Cameroon international, with Barcelona set to demand a fee in the region of £12.5 million for his services.
FIFA has imposed a transfer ban on Barcelona for the next two transfer windows, however that would not prevent the club from selling players.
Moyes has made strengthening the midfield his priority, with Bayern Munich’s Toni Kroos also understood to be a top target.
Song spent eight years at Arsenal after joining from French club Bastia as a 17-year-old.
He went on to establish himself as a key first team player at the Emirates Stadium, before following in the footsteps of Cesc Fabregas and swapping North London for the Camp Nou in 2012.
