Tottenham supporters are streaming into the Football Transfer Tavern tonight ahead of their Europa League clash against Benfica.
Before the match can kick-off, they are taken aback by speculation emerging in the bar as Jamie Sanderson from Metro reports that Manchester United want to sign Nabil Bentaleb from the White Hart Lane club in the summer.
The 19-year-old has enjoyed a breakthrough season with the North London side, after being offered a chance by Tim Sherwood after he replaced Andre Villas-Boas in charge.
We have been impressed with Bentaleb’s mature performances in the heart of Sherwood’s side and it’s not real surprise to hear that United boss David Moyes is tracking his development.
The former Everton boss had employed some of his more senior scouts to keep an eye on him with an offer expected from United in the summer.
It is likely that Spurs would attempt to resist any offers from Old Trafford, but Spurs could struggle given the likelihood of missing Champions League at White Hart Lane.
The youngster is thought to worth about £10 million but his value is expected to rise over the summer, with a call-up to the Algerian national teams reportedly on the cards for the Brazil World Cup.
Can you really see Tottenham letting the promising youngster join one of their Premier League rivals? Let us know your thoughts below.
