Manchester United will turn their attentions to France midfielder Blaise Matuidi this summer but only if they fail with their attempt to sign Paul Pogba, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The Manchester United faithful here in the Transfer Tavern have been relishing the prospect of their former midfielder Pogba arriving back at Old Trafford this summer, but with the deal far from complete, contingency plans are in place.
The Paris Saint-Germain midfielder would come a lot cheaper than Pogba and some of the Manchester United faithful believe he would be a better option for the club to pursue this summer.
Pogba would cost in the region of £110 million to the Premier League club, whereas Matuidi would probably be available for half of that price, if not less.
One Manchester United fan is sat chatting to the Tavern’s landlord during happy hour and he thinks that Pogba would be a great signing, stating that a case could be made for signing both the Juventus man and Matuidi this summer!
Manchester United fans, what do you make to this news? Should United pursue Matuidi instead? Let us know in the comments below!!
