It’s been a good transfer window for Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho, who has moved to strengthen his side ahead of a tough-looking Premier League campaign.
The Red Devils paid a staggering sum to bring Romelu Lukaku to Old Trafford but there’s thought amongst the United fans here in the Tavern that the spending shouldn’t cease just yet.
With United’s big rivals not hesitating in splashing the cash, there’s thought that a couple more bodies would do wonders in seeing Jose’s men have a successful league campaign when the season starts next week.
And there’s one man Jose is being linked with in Spain at the moment and that’s Barcelona midfielder Sergi Roberto.
According to Spanish outlet Don Balon, Mourinho is ready to activate the midfielder’s release clause to bring him to England, a move that would see his midfield strengthened significantly ahead of the league kick-off.
Roberto impressed in Spain last season but his release clause means he’s there for the taking at any time and there is little Barcelona can do about it.
This would be a tidy piece of business for Jose Mourinho.
Roberto might not be up there with Messi and Suarez as the headline writers but he plays an important role in this Barcelona team, anchoring the midfield and giving real quality from the middle-of-the-park.
Unassuming but seriously strong and a ball winner. He might not scream goals but he plays a far more important role in the team than anyone probably gives him credit for.
United fans- would this be a good deal? Leave your thoughts down below!
