Manchester United ready to move for Cameroon international

song.jpgManchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking rather downcast with life at Old Trafford as new boss David Moyes struggles gets to grips with life at the Red Devils.

Punters realise that the former Everton manager will need a very strong transfer window in the New Year after failing to recruit any of his main transfer targets during the summer and suffering on the pitch as a consequence.

Now today’s Metro suggests that United could make a surprise bid for Barcelona midfielder and ex-Arsenal ace Alex Song during the January transfer window.

Since arriving at the Camp Nou last summer, the former Gunners enforcer has struggled to gain regular football with the La Liga champions and the latest reports from Spain suggest that he is now ready to hand in a transfer request.

Moyes and United are understood to be strong admirers of the 26-year-old, as the Scottish boss seeks to strengthen his midfield after failing to sign a host of targets over the summer.

While Belgian international midfielderMarouane Fellaini arrived from Everton, punters were still left very disappointed with the club’s lack of incomings in the summer window and now Moyes will be looking to improve his side considerably in January.

Song has only appeared three times under new Barca coach Gerardo Martino this season, with his most recent appearance coming on Tuesday as the Blaugranas defeated Celtic 1-0 in the Champions League at Parkhead.

Will United move for Song and reunite him with van Persie in the New Year? Let us know your thoughts below.
