Manchester United fans are raising their pints after the latest news from The Mirror suggested that the Old Trafford club are ready to splash the cash in January as David Moyes tries to strengthen his side.
The paper indicates, to the delight of Red Devils in the bar, that United are lining up a move for Borussia Dortmund ace Marcos Reus in January.
The 24-year-old has been the shining star in Jurgen Klopp’s Dortmund midfield since arriving from Borussia Monchengladbach in 2012 and helped the German side reach the Champions League Final last season.
Apparently United sent scouts including his assistant Steve Round to watch the attacking midfielder at the Westfalenstadion during their recent Champions League tie against Napoli.
However Moyes will face some fight to land the highly rated German international midfielder as a £29 million release clause in his contract cannot be activated until 2015.
Dortmund are desperate not to lose more stars after the departure of Mario Gotze with striker Robert Lewandowski expected to join Bayern Munich during the summer.
There is also talk that Reus that may extend his contract with the Bundesliga club, but interest from United could still turn his head in the near future.
