Manchester United fans are smiling like Cheshire cats here in the Football Transfer Tavern after our landlord tells them what the Daily Mail are claiming.
The publication have claimed that the Red Devils have handed new manager Louis van Gaal a massive amount of cash – as much as £220 million – to rebuild their squad this summer and there will be some world class arrivals.
Southampton’s Luke Shaw is rumoured to be making his way to the club in a £27 million deal and it seems he will not be the last big name, with the likes of Cesc Fabregas, Koke (pictured) and Edinson Cavani also linked heavily to the club.
Not only that, but the likes of Arjen Robben are also on the hit list for Louis van Gaal and we think it could well be a brilliant summer and one that could well see the club back on top come next season.
Over a game of pool our punters have claimed that there will be no excuses next season for van Gaal and we certainly think that the club are better handing the Dutchman that amount of cash than David Moyes!
Do you think that an investment of £220 million can see United compete with the likes of Chelsea and City again? Let us know your thoughts below.
