Everton defender John Stones is at the very top of Jose Mourinho’s list of transfer targets, with the Portuguese manager set to be given the managerial job at Manchester United later this week, The Guardian reports.
Stones looks set to leave the Toffees after a poor season for the club and Manchester United will face stiff competition from Chelsea and Manchester City for the young centre-half, who played pretty well in England’s 2-1 win over Turkey at the Etihad Stadium yesterday.
Many of the Manchester United supporting punters here in the Transfer Tavern believe that the former Chelsea boss will get the club back towards the top of the Premier League once more, with the new manager set to be handed a minimum of £150 million to spend on new recruits.
Stones signing for the club would be just the start of United’s spending spree which is also set to include the purchase of at least one midfielder, a winger and probably a striker too.
One United fan is sat nursing a killer hangover from the weekend with an orange juice and he thinks the club will be much more organised under Mourinho’s managements, stating Louis van Gaal’s style of play was not suited to the Premier League giants.
Manchester United fans, would you welcome Stones to the club? What will he bring to the side?
