Manchester United set to enter race for 26-goal teenage sensation

It appears that life is never quiet when it comes to Manchester United and the summer transfer market…

The Red Devils splashed a hefty amount of cash on several new players during last summer and that looks to be the case once again during this year’s instalment of the window.

Our landlord here in the Football Transfer Tavern is having a look through this morning’s edition of The Sun and they are stating that United will enter the bidding process for highly-rated Monaco youngster Kylian Mbappe.

The 18-year-old looks set to leave the French champions this summer after bursting onto the scene with 26 goals in all competitions.

Arsenal were said to have had a bid rejected last week for the player and it appears it will take in the region of £100 million for any club to secure the youngster, with United unwilling to be left behind in the bidding wars.

The Red Devils did win the League Cup and Europa League during 2016/17 but the sixth-place finish in the Barclays Premier League is deemed simply unacceptable by the United supporters here in the Tavern, with every emphasis placed upon improving that during 2017/18.

Mbappe is unlikely to be the only player that arrives during the summer if a deal can be done, although his arrival would represent a pretty decent beginning to what promises to be a busy transfer window for Jose Mourinho.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome Mbappe to Old Trafford? Is a striker an immediate priority for the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
