Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are frustrated after the Daily Mail revealed that Southampton held encouraging talks with Nathaniel Clyne’s new agent.
The English international has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester United and has been tipped to follow in the same footsteps as Luke Shaw.
The South Coast club initially gave the up and coming defender a deadline to decide on whether or not he wants to stay at St Mary’s.
That deadline has now passed, however Saints are now in new talks with the defender as he has got a new agent.
Although the defender insists that the previous agent did not hold back proceedings.
Saints are desperate to tie up his future as his current deal expires next summer, and as our landlord quips, United should really go hammer and tong to secure a deal for the man.
But United fans in the Tavern can have a bit of hope because it was not long ago when Clyne revealed his strong desire to play in the Champions League.
