There are disappointed faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Daily Mail claim that Manchester United could well be set to miss out on one of their top summer targets.
The publication claim that former manager and club icon Sir Alex Ferguson had identified Juan Fernando Quintero as his final transfer target and now it seems that the club are set to lose out to Porto in the fight for the Colombian international.
The attacker has shown why he is one of the best players in the world of late and Fergie had ordered scouts to keep a close eye on the player.
Now it seems that the Portuguese side could well be set to pip David Moyes to the post and sign the midfield sensation for themselves.
David Moyes is looking to not only bring in the 20-year-old but sort out the future of Wayne Rooney. Given that Ryan Giggs is now player coach and Phil Neville is also now on board, there will still be some familar faces around the place next season.
Manchester United fans. Are you gutted to have seemingly missed out on the signing of Quintero? Let us know your thoughts below.
