Manchester City fans are looking up with smiles on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as the Manchester Evening News seem to think that they are leading the race for Kevin De Bruyne.
The former Chelsea midfielder has excelled this season for Wolfsburg and has attracted attention from many of Europe’s top clubs, but as one of our punters notes, it is Manchester City and rivals United who have been the sides linked most frequently with the Belgian star.
With a move to Bayern Munich also being rumoured, not to mention the fact that De Bruyne wants to stay in Germany doing the rounds as the latest rumour, his agent has moved to make it very clear the midfielder is still open to an offer from Manchester City.
The midfielder’s agent claimed: ‘I have met the people from Manchester City and we know each other.
‘For the moment, there are no formal discussions. Of course, in the next few weeks I will going around the world to talk about the situation with Kevin but this is just informal information.
‘I’ve never spoken to anyone from Manchester United but a lot of other clubs have been in touch to find out some general information.’
