Manchester United set to offload World Cup winning midfielder as Mourinho stamps authority

Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger is set to become the first Manchester United casualty of the Jose Mourinho era, with a move away from Old Trafford set to take place this summer, according to the Daily Express.

The Red Devils supporters here in the Transfer Tavern are not particularly pleased by the reports in the newspaper, with several of the die-hards believing that the German still has a lot to offer United.

The 31-year-old only arrived in Manchester last summer in a £6.5 million deal but it now looks as though new boss Mourinho wants to free up space in his squad, following a glut of summer arrivals.

The former Bayern Munich man struggled with injuries last term and one United fan here in the Tavern believes that might be the reason that the Portuguese boss wants to offload the midfielder.

Another United supporter is crying into his pint pot whilst playing on the fruit machine, stating that the team will be worse off without Schweinsteiger pulling the midfield strings next season.

Manchester United fans, what do you make to this news? Has the German been harshly treated by Mourinho? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below!!!
