Manolas.jpgManchester United have launched a bid for Roma central defender Kostas Manolas and the Premier League club are undeterred by the £30.3 million asking price, according to the Daily Express, via Sky Sport Italia.

The Greece international has impressed in Italy since his arrival from Greek giants Olympiakos two years ago, with Chelsea and Arsenal also thought to be monitoring the player’s situation too.

One of Jose Mourinho’s first tasks as boss of the Red Devils will be to shore the team up at the back and a central defender will be particularly high on his list of targets.

The 24-year-old is a wanted man this summer although some clubs have been put off by Roma’s valuation, but with Manchester United set to splash the cash this summer that simply won’t bother them.

One Manchester United fan is sat with his pals chatting about next season and he thinks Manolas would be a good addition to the United squad, should he sign during the summer.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome Manolas to the club? Can he be a big player for years to come? Who else would you like to see arrive at Old Trafford?
