Manchester United set to smash world transfer record with deal for Real Madrid star

This summer looks set to be another exciting one in the transfer market for Manchester United…

The Red Devils who regularly come into the Football Transfer Tavern were astounded when the club parted with more than £90 million to secure Paul Pogba from Juventus last summer, and this summer could be equally as exciting.

Our resident DJ is discussing tonight’s set with the landlord and whilst flicking through the Manchester Evening News he discovers that United are hopeful of securing a deal to sign Real Madrid performer Gareth Bale.

The Welshman was a late substitute for Madrid during their 4-1 victory over Juventus in the Champions League Final and his exclusion from the starting line-up could tell its own tale ahead of his plans for next season.

M.E.N Sport are reporting that United could be prepared to pay close to £100 million for the world class star after ruling themselves out of the running for French star Antoine Griezmann, who now seems likely to stay at Atletico Madrid.

Bale signed a six-year contract in Madrid earlier in the campaign and it is likely to take a large sum to lure him back to England with Old Trafford, although United are probably the only club in the Barclays Premier League who could afford to seal this deal.

One United fan is sat mulling things over with the landlord over a pint and he believes that Bale would be a sensational signing, stating that his arrival could instantly transform the club into title challengers.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome Gareth Bale to the club? Let us know in the comments below!!!
