Manchester United set valuation for influential goalkeeper, Real Madrid remain interested

Whilst a lot of the talk surrounding Manchester United is usually regarding players arriving at Old Trafford, there remains a big question mark over the future of one of the club’s top players…

Number one goalkeeper David de Gea has been attracting interest from Spanish giants Real Madrid over recent years and this summer doesn’t look likely to be an exception.

The United supporters here in the Football Transfer Tavern are desperately hoping that the club can keep hold of the world class stopper and are nervously awaiting an update.

It might not all be doom and gloom for the United faithful, however, with the Daily Mail reporting that the Champions League winners will need to fork out a massive £80 million if they are wanting to secure the custodian this summer.

With Keylor Navas in impressive form during 2016/17 it remains to be seen whether the price tag will put the club off pursuing the United stopper, although the report does claim that United boss Jose Mourinho might be willing to sanction the deal should a bid match the valuation.

In six years at Old Trafford the Spanish number one has gone from strength to strength and he is now very much one of the finest masters of his trade in world football.

One United fan is sat enjoying a pint with the landlord and he thinks that it is vital that the club keep their goalkeeper this summer, stating that he is irreplaceable on current form.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome the sale of De Gea? Let us know in the comments below!!!
