Manchester United should forget Luke Shaw and sign this Spanish star in January

Manchester United squeezed out a 1-0 win over Brighton yesterday to keep on the trail of league leaders Manchester City, and manager Jose Mourinho will be hoping they can keep going and snatch the title come May.

The Red Devils had quite the extravagant summer in terms of transfers, and January once again represents a chance for the club to dip into the market and strengthen their ranks.

Our landlord here at the Tavern thinks there’s a few players out there who would really add something different to the club, and one play he thinks suits this mould is young Spanish left back, Luis Gaya.

The Valencia man has been quality for a few seasons now, and despite sitting behind Jordi Alba in terms of playing for the Spanish national team, Gaya is still a player of immense quality in that left back berth, and his form this season for Valencia backs that up further.

With United struggling to find a regular left back of quality and with Luke Shaw struggling to get back to fitness, the signing of someone like Gaya could be the perfect sort of addition for United and Mourinho.

A quality player and crucially available for the Champions League run in, Gaya would be a superb addition to both United and the Premier League as a whole.
