Manchester United should try and steal a march on their rivals with move for world class talisman

The Manchester United supporting punters are feeling mightily hungover here in the Football Transfer Tavern this weekend, following their heavy drinking session after the Red Devils reached the Europa League Final with a 2-1 aggregate win over Spanish side Celta Vigo.

Domestically United have toiled at times during this campaign and boss Jose Mourinho knows that he is under pressure to win the Europa League in order to qualify for the Champions League next season, with a top four finish looking nothing but a long-shot right now.

After plunging millions of pounds on players last summer it seems likely that the Red Devils will continue to splash the cash this close season as the club strives to return to the forefront of English football, following years in the wilderness.

One area that United could look to bolster during the summer is in attack and naturally some of the world’s top strikers will probably be on the club’s list of potential targets.

One striker who should be targeted by Portuguese boss Mourinho is Bayern Munich forward Robert Lewandowski, who has continued his red hot form this season with 28 goals for the German giants.

The 28-year-old is a superb player and it is unlikely that the Red Devils will go for an also-ran in the summer, with the club more likely to press ahead with a move for one of the world’s best.

A couple of United fans are having a game of pool here in the Tavern and they have overheard the landlord giving his opinion on the Polish striker. They are in agreement that the club needs to sign a player of his ilk if they are to once again challenge for Premier League titles once again.

Manchester United fans, would you welcome Lewandowski? Let us know in the comments below!!!
