Manchester United fans are looking smug here in the Football Transfer Tavern as we find these infographics which contain some rather shocking statistics about the topic of football shirt sales in the city of Manchester.
According to the stats compiled by SportsDirect.com, in 2014/15 so far, the Red Devils have sold 10.33 per cent of United jerseys in their home city.
What’s more, it seems all those who mock United’s fanbase for residing far away from Manchester, instead in London and across the wider world are correct after 44.71 per cent were sold in the capital!
Despite that fate, our Red Devils regulars are mocking the results recorded for their cross-town rivals Manchester City with Citizens shirt sales in 2014/15 so far showing that just a measly 4.72 per cent have been sold within their home city!
Given Manuel Pellegrini’s side cannot seem to fill the Etihad Stadium at the minute and have to resort to BOGOF offers to sell tickets, our punters note that it is no shock the figure is so low!
Elsewhere and rather shockingly, Manchester United also managed to sell 4.55 per cent of shirts in the city of Liverpool!
