The Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern have heightened hopes of perhaps seeing Cristiano Ronaldo back in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
The World Player of the Year left Old Trafford in 2009 when he joined up with La Liga giants Real Madrid in a then world record breaking deal.
However talkSPORT’s Spanish expert Paul Breen-Turner believes that we could soon see the Portuguese attacker back in England after he questioned Real Madrid’s transfer dealings this summer.
He said: “Ronaldo gave an interview with a journalist in Madrid and he said, ‘If I was handling the transfers, I probably wouldn’t have done things the way they have been done.’ That’s upset everybody, including the president.
“Florentino Perez is said to be furious at these comments and we’re just waiting now to see what happens.”
It is believed that Ronaldo is angry that Madrid let Angel Di Maria and Xabi Alonso both leave the Bernabeu this summer.
Di Maria joined Louis van Gaal’s revolution and former Spanish international Alonso was allowed to join Bayern Munich.
Reports also suggest that the former Manchester United winger, who joined the club at the same time as Nani, is still angered by the sale of Mesut Ozil to Arsenal last summer.
