Metro have some rather intriguing news for Manchester United fans here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
This is after they claimed that one of the defenders at the club could well be closing in on the exit door.
As our punters move away from the packed pool table and over to our landlord at the bar, they not only order a round of rather reasonably priced drinks – if we do say so ourselves – but they enquire about the latest rumour on offer.
For his part, our landlord hands out some free shots and fill us in.
He notes that Rafael has been linked with what seems to be a revolving exit rumour door at Manchester United and it seems that he could well be about to leave a ship that many of our punters would happily tell you was sinking.
Rafael has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford and it seems that his agent has done nothing to dampen the speculation with his latest quotes. Rafael is believed to have told fans he is keen to stay but his agent has spoke to the contrary.
“I don’t know anything about these stories. I think they are just journalistic speculation,” claimed the full back’s agent. But he added: “Today, I say they will remain in Manchester until the end of the season, but in summer it is very likely that they can leave.”
As our landlord claims, feigning ignorance can only work so far and certainly not when you follow it up with the comment that there could be a move in the summer.
Is Rafael going to stay at Old Trafford long-term or will he flee Moyes’ sinking ship? Let us know your thoughts below.
