The North London contingent here in the Football Transfer Tavern are looking rather impressed after the Daily Express claimed Javier Hernandez could well be set to leave Manchester United.
The Mexican international forward has dropped the biggest hint yet that he could be leaving the Red Devils.
He has noted that he feels no one has shown faith in him over the last season and that he will be looking to get that from his next manager, be it Louis van Gaal or someone else.
As one of our punters notes over a pint, both Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Hernandez who will no longer accept a role as simply a ‘super sub.’
The Mexican forward claimed: “This whole year has been very tough. Players need confidence more than anything else, and I’ve been very short of it.
“Very few people have shown faith in me over this past year.”
As we know, Arsenal are desperate for another forward to support Olivier Giroud and with Arsene Wenger distancing the club from a move for Mario Balotelli, we think Hernandez could be a worthy alternative.
Manchester United fans. Do you think your manager needs to show Hernandez how much he values him or should the forward be allowed to leave? Let us know your thoughts below.
