Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are once again reminded of the good old days as the Daily Mail revealed that Radamel Falcao’s agent said his client would score more goals under Sir Alex Ferguson.
Super agent Jorge Mendes is clearly defending his client Falcao and it is a clear swipe at Louis van Gaal and the way he is currently managing the club.
It has been easy for Mendes to criticise van Gaal this week with the former Netherlands boss being in the spotlight after West Ham United boss Sam Allardyce slated his long ball tactics in public.
Mendes, who is also Cristiano Ronaldo’s agent, had a good relationship with Ferguson as they worked closely whilst the Portuguese international was at Old Trafford.
And not only has Mendes made his feelings clear about van Gaal but to apply some pressure, he has said that he misses Ferguson which only encourages our resident Red Devils fans to compare him to the legendary Scotsman.
“Falcao is a champion. At Manchester, I miss Ferguson because he is Manchester United and he has given a lot to this club. With Ferguson and this same squad the situation would be different,” said Mendes.
“I feel sorry with myself because I know Falcao and I know that if he is handed five consecutive full games, I am convinced he will score in almost every game. Because he is very good.
“Recently he was being the best player of the match and after 70 minutes… there are things I don’t want to discuss further.”
Manchester United fans. Should Falcao be doing a lot better despite what his agent Jorge Mendes claims? Let us know your thoughts below.
