Manchester United fans seem happy at the latest story coming from the Daily Mirror and are coming to discuss it with our landlord here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication has claimed that the club are willing to sell Tom Cleverley and Everton are top of the list to take him.
The Goodison Park outfit are prepared to offer as much as £15 million for the player who as one of our punters notes, would probably be a very good buy for a club like Everton. For Manchester United however, he is not.
Some of our more kind hearted regulars think that Cleverley has been made into a scapegoat for the form of the club this season, and the player himself has claimed that he is simply ‘misunderstood’ in England.
That of course raised some eyebrows and the general consensus is that he is just not good enough to wear the red shirt of United.
David Moyes, who will remarkably probably still be in charge in the summer, is willing to sell the midfielder should the right offer come in, and Roberto Martinez thinks that the England international (they really do hand out caps to anyone these days!) would be the ideal fit to take his Toffees side forward.
Do you think that Cleverley would make a good signing for Martinez? More to the point, do you agree he is not good enough to play for United? Let us know your thoughts below.
