The Daily Star have a claim that Manchester United fans find rather interesting here in the Football Transfer Tavern, as they note that Wilfried Zaha is being tracked by his former club.
Zaha has failed to break into the first team under David Moyes and has seen his once bright career stall as a result. He is currently battling to stay in the Premier League with his loan side Cardiff City.
Now it seems that his former side, Crystal Palace, are willing to bring him back to Selhurst Park should the opportunity arise in the summer.
After a brilliant morale-boosting win over Chelsea at the weekend, Eagles chairman Steve Parish spoke about the club’s summer transfer plans, and noted that if the club remain in the top flight of English football, he would love to re-sign the Ivory Coast-born winger.
Parish claimed: “Wilf’s a fantastic player, I certainly think we would be interested.
“United have not said anything official, he’s their player, but if a player like that did become available then I am sure we would be interested.”
He also made it very clear that survival is not the sole motive next term for the club, and claimed that their summer transfer policy would reflect that.
He stated: “If we are fortunate enough to stay in the division, we will be looking to kick on and establish ourselves and try to get up to mid-table and be a bit more comfortable.
“Wilfried is a player who is worthy of the division and is a player who could help anybody.
“We saw him come on for Cardiff at the weekend and he changed the game, so if a situation arose for that kind of player, of course we would be interested.”
