The Football Transfer Tavern has been rather quiet today but the latest news from the Daily Star has left the few punters in the bar shocked.
Jack Wilson from the paper has arrived to claim Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez will be allowed to depart Old Trafford at the end of the season.
The Mexican international has struggled to make an impression under new manager David Moyes with just four Premier League starts under his belt this term as he tries to compete with Robin van Persie, Wayne Rooney and Danny Wellbeck in the United team.
It seems to us that Moyes is not a big admirer of the 25-year-old and now Wilson suggests this lack of football could see him departing at the end of the campaign.
Hernandez, who is under contract until 2016, has been strongly linked with a move to Inter Milan in recent weeks after becoming increasingly frustrated about life at Old Trafford while Tottenham are also thought to hold an interest in the Mexican forward.
The Serie A giants have already taken United captain Nemanja Vidic for next season and now Hernandez could follow him to the San Siro. We think that he would jump at the chance to join Inter and leave United behind.
This is despite, Inter president Erick Thohir recently denying the interest noting: “Chicharito is a good player but we have not spoken neither with him.”
Would letting Hernandez depart Old Trafford prove a huge mistake? Let us know your thoughts below.
