Manchester United supporters in the Football Transfer Tavern have finally received some positive news as The Mirror report that goalkeeper David De Gea will sign a new four-year deal at Old Trafford.
The 23-year-old has been constantly linked with a move back to Spain in recent years but he has now decided to remain to pen an improved deal worth £90,000-a-week with David Moyes.
The news has arrived in tavern just days after it was confirmed that club captain Nemanja Vidic will be leaving United at the end of the campaign, with reports also suggesting that Rio Ferdinand and Patrice Evra will also depart in the near future.
De Gea has emerged as one of United’s finest players during a difficult period at United, and the former Atletico Madrid man will be staying at United for the foreseeable future.
With Victor Valdes set to leave the Camp Nou in the summer, De Gea has been linked with a move to the Catalan club but Barca have now announced the arrival of Marc-Andre ter Stegen as a replacement for the legendary keeper.
De Gea is now expected to sign a contract until 2018 as Moyes succeeds in keeping one of his main men at Old Trafford.
