Manchester United star to become Newcastle United’s ninth signing?

Wilfried ZahaNewcastle United fans are smiling here in the Football Transfer Tavern as Metro report they are leading the race to sign 21-year-old Wilfried Zaha.

Despite being considered an outcast at Manchester United, struggling to fit in and break into the first team, the majority of our punters still think the starlet has plenty to give and if handed the opportunity, he is a top quality player.

For £7 million,we think this fee represents a massive bargain.

It seems that Louis van Gaal is willing to cash in on Zaha should the right offer come in and given his favoured 3-5-2 formation, we are not that surprised.

He has four forwards of varying quality (yes, Danny Welbeck, you let the side down there) and will turn to them to fill the spaces in their squad; not play a winger whom he does not trust out of position.

Newcastle United could well do with another quality summer signing and our landlord thinks this could well be the one for Alan Pardew.

If signed Zaha would be the Magpies’ ninth summer signing after Ayoze Perez, Jack Colback, Siem de Jong, Remy Cabella, Emmanuel Riviere and Daryl Janmaat joined on permanent deals while Karl Darlow and Jamaal Lascalles joined and were then loaned back to Nottingham Forest for the 2014/15 campaign.

Newcastle fans. Is this a signing you would like to make? Have Manchester United given up on Zaha far too early? Let us know your thoughts below.
