Manchester United fans are looking forward to their side’s weekend fixture for once but our landlord here in the Football Transfer Tavern has a little bit of information from the Daily Express that may distract them before then.
The publication seem to be under the impression that United will actually be keeping Robin van Persie at the club despite despite rumours surrounding the forward’s future under Louis van Gaal.
We certainly think that given the former Arsenal man’s form for United in the last couple of years, he deserves another chance!
The paper had been interviewing Southampton legend Matt Le Tissier about his thoughts regarding United’s current front line.
One player Le Tissier has some serious concerns over however is Radamel Falcao who is on loan from Monaco and is struggling to find fitness and feature in the amount of games United want him to.
The sheer amount of money that Falcao is costing the club for 12 months, not to mention the transfer fee they would then have to pay for him is something that seriously concerns the United board and certainly Le Tissier.
Until they receive the confirmation that Falcao can withstand the pace in the Premier League, Le Tissier believes the Red Devils would be unwilling to shell out and at present, it is likely that the Colombian will only be at Old Trafford for the 2014/15 campaign.
Manchester United fans. Who would you rather keep if it came down to a straight choice between the two strikers? Let us know you thoughts below.
