Despite spending all that money, La Liga giants Real Madrid lost against cross-town rivals Atletico – going down 2-1 on aggregate.
Money is one thing Real Madrid will always have but according to talkSPORT, they are planning a cheeky loan raid on the Premier League.
Reports suggest that Manchester United defender Guillermo Varela is subject of a season-long loan bid from the La Liga club.
The young Uruguayan defender joined United last summer for around £2 million from Penarol.
However the 21-year-old is yet to make an appearance for the Red Devils.
But apparently Madrid are preparing to take the 21-year-old right back on loan for the season with a view to a £4 million permanent deal next summer.
However the defender still has four years remaining on his deal with the Red Devils and it remains to be seen whether Louis van Gaal will entertain Madrid’s offer.
