Manchester United are set for a busy summer ahead as manager Jose Mourinho looks to add to his first-team squad with the upcoming season edging ever-closer.
The Red Devils fans lining the bar here in the pub agree that more needs to be done in terms of transfer dealings to ensure a better league placing next season. The League Cup and Europa League trophy wins were seen as positive last season but moving forward, competing with the likes of Chelsea and Tottenham should be the biggest priority.
And before he starts bringing in new names, United boss Mourinho needs to have a look at his own squad first, and begin getting rid of some of the deadwood that isn’t helping the club move forward.
One man that now looks to fall into that category is young utility man Joe Riley who, according to the Sun, has his heart staying at Old Trafford despite United bosses trying to move him onto Bradford City.
The 20-year-old isn’t keen on the idea of dropping down into League One, having made two appearances for the United first-team last season.
But with competition in Jose Mourinho’s squad as high as ever, he could be a player that is shifted to make room for new recruits, despite his Old Trafford ambitions.
