The Daily Mail has claimed that the club are not certain over the future of Wayne Rooney.
The forward is in high demand and Chelsea are of course still on the lookout for a striker.
This means a new bid for the forward could well come in the summer, which would also signal the final year of the contract of Rooney.
Should United fail to get into the top four and qualify for the Champions League, Rooney may well choose to leave the club and as one of our punters quips, we would hardly blame him for that!
According to the Mail, David Moyes was coy when asked about the future of the player, and noted: “We would have to wait and see what happened in that situation.”
He also spoke abut the performance of the England international, who in all honesty has been the one shining light in the season of United. A season which has been difficult at best. Moyes claimed: “I think if you look at his performances he’s certainly playing at his best.”
United are keen to get a new deal on the table for Rooney and know exactly how vital the forward is to them.
