Manchester United fans in the Football Transfer Tavern are expecting a busier deadline day than most and The Guardian reports about one exit that has already been confirmed.
Shinji Kagawa has completed a permanent move back to his former club Borussia Dortmund after a disappointing two-year spell at Old Trafford.
The Japanese international struggled to hold down a regular first team place after signing for the club in the summer of 2012 and Louis van Gaal had deemed him surplus to requirements.
van Gaal is keen to offload some of Manchester United’s high-earning squad players with the futures of Tom Cleverley, Maraoune Fellaini, Danny Welbeck and Javier Hernandez all uncertain ahead of the transfer deadline.
Kagawa has now signed a four-year-deal with Jurgen Klopp’s Bundesliga giants whom he starred for prior to his switch to Old Trafford.
van Gaal meanwhile is hoping to add more new signings before the close of the transfer window, despite smashing the club’s transfer record with the £59.6 million capture of Angel Di Maria from Real Madrid last week.
The Dutchman has been consistently linked with a move for Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal, whilst Daley Blind will complete a £15 million move from Ajax, subject to passing a medical.
