There is more than a little bit of disappointment here at the Football Transfer Tavern for Manchester United fans after the Metro claimed that the club have no chance of landing Cesc Fabregas.
It seems that despite multiple bids for the payer it seems that Barcelona will not allow Fabregas to leave and make him stay and fight for his place after seeing Andres Iniesta and Xavi beat him to the punch time and time again.
Of course it has tragically been all change of late for the Catalan Giants and Cesc could well find more chances arise under new manager Tato Martino and Barcelona noted that ‘It doesn’t matter what any offer from Manchester United is – we’re not selling him. We’re counting on him. He’s not for sale,’ he said.
‘If there was a higher offer would we accept it? No. He’s a great player. It doesn’t bother us that Manchester United want him. We’re proud that a club like that wants one of our players.’
That is a blow to David Moyes after seeing Thiago leave Barcelona and join Bayern Munich and now it seems a second blow could be dealt – despite Paul Scholes noting that it would be ‘a dream’ to see Cesc fill his shoes at Old Trafford.
