The Sun have a sensational claim here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they think that Manchester United could well land Robert Lewandowski this summer for £25.5 million.
The Polish forward has been told point blank that he cannot go to Bayern Munich and as one of our punters quips, you can hardly blame Jurgen Klopp’s side given the fact Borussia Dortmund are their domestic rivals and have not only just lost both the league and the Champions League final to the Bavarian giants but also seen their star asset Mario Gotze leave the club to join them.
Despite Lewandowski claiming that nothing is set in stone and he could well still be allowed to join the side, it seems that Dortmund are prepared to let him join literally anyone else and will take £25.5 million for him instead of risking losing the forward on a free when his contract expires this time next year.
As one of our punters rightly says, United and David Moyes will not be the only club interested in landing the player for such a small amount of money. Arsenal are looking for a world class forward and Chelsea’s Jose Mourinho knows only too well what the Polish forward can do to teams.
