Manchester United fans are looking up from their pints in the Football Transfer Tavern as the latest speculation reaches the bar.
Today’s reports from Mail Online suggest that Paris Saint-Germain striker and United target Edinson Cavani is considering leaving the Ligue 1 club after just one season.
According to French reports, Cavani is disappointed with the wide position he has been handed at the club by manager Laurent Blanc.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic starts down the middle with the Uruguay striker playing on either flank.
This could see the former Napoli man forcing another move away despite only joining the Parisian club for £54 million in the summer.
A striker of Cavani’s undoubted quality would surely improve Moyes’ United outfit although where he would fit in with Wayne Rooney, Robin van Persie and new signing Juan Mata remains to be seen.
United have already landed Chelsea’s Mata in a club-record deal and Moyes hasn’t finished in the transfer market with today’s newspapers linking the former Everton boss with a £22.5 million bid for Southampton’s Luke Shaw.
However any move for Cavani would come at a huge cost and we just can’t see PSG letting the Uruguayan leave without making a profit on the massive fee they forked out less than 12 months ago.
