Manchester United supporters are beginning to arrive in the Football Transfer Tavern ahead of their Champions League tie against Bayer Leverkusen tonight.
News about one of their failed summer transfer targets has now emerged in the bar as the Daily Star report that Athletic Bilbao midfielder Ander Herrera has no plans to secure a move to Old Trafford in the January transfer window.
Herrera was reportedly close to joining United on deadline day of the summer window but Moyes saw a late bid fall through leaving him with just Marouane Fellaini signing for the Red Devils.
It was thought that the former Everton boss would move again for the 24-year-old, but now the Athletic Bilbao ace has insisted that he is not interested in a move to the Premier League, yet.
“I am tired about this issue,” Herrera said.
“People are going to think that I want an exit but it is not true. I have said already that I am happy in Athletic Bilbao and I am going to stay here.”
The classy midifeld man has a reported £36 million release clause in his contract and recent reports indicated that it could be activated by United during the winter window.
Other possible targets for United include Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, who is also wanted by Liverpool.
Elsewhere, out of favour Real Madrid attacker Angel Di Maria could also prove another potential arrival at Old Trafford as he seeks regular football away from the Bernabeu in a World Cup season.
Who should David Moyes concentrate on securing this winter after this Herrera snub? Let us know your thoughts below.
