Manchester United fans are looking disappointed with the latest speculation arriving into the Football Transfer Tavern.
The Mirror indicates that the Red Devils are set to miss out on one of the key summer transfer targets.
Atletico Madrid midfielder Koke, who has been strongly linked with a move to Old Trafford, has committed himself to the high-flying La Liga club.
The 22-year-old has been one of the stars of Diego Simeone’s impressive side this term with his efforts helping them to reach the Champions League last four while they currently top the La Liga table.
It therefore has come as no real surprise to see the young Spainard linked with a move to England with David Moyes thought to be a keen admirer.
United are set for a massive summer as Moyes tries to revive the soon-to-be Premier League champions with a £200 million spending spree.
However it sounds like Koke is very happy to remain with the Madrid side.
“I am very happy and I do not think about leaving the club right now,” Koke told Marca.
“I am happy at home, I want to continue here and that is why I have a long contract.
“The rumours in the paper will have no impact on my game. I am young, but I am calm.
“Now is the best moment to enjoy being at Atletico. My future here will be long.”
Koke penned a new contract keeping him at the La Liga side until 2018 earlier in the season and this recent statement does not a shock to punters in the tavern.
With the move for Koke going nowhere, who should United concentrate onn luring to Old Trafford now? Let us know your thoughts below.
