The Daily Mail have claimed that Manchester United face a huge fight to land Cesc Fabregas this summer, causing disappointment here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication have noted that Fabregas plans not only to stay at the Camp Nou under Tito Vilanova for at least one more year but that Barcelona are fully supportive of that choice and want to keep the midfielder to boot.
The biggest obstacle for David Moyes seemed to be the first option for Arsenal and Arsene Wenger who of course sold Cesc to the Catalan giants in the first place.
Now after failing to make the impact he would’ve liked in La Liga, the midfielder has been linked with a move away and David Moyes only this week noted the club were working hard to net him claiming that: “The chief exec has been dealing with it just now and I am in contact with him.
“I’ll hopefully know a little more in the next day or so. I may have a bit more information in the next day or so about how it’s going.”
Now Barcelona have claimed that Fabregas will be going nowhere, noting to Sport that: “Barcelona can assure [fans] we wont listen to any offers for Cesc.
“It is totally ruled out, he’s not for sale.”
Of course this is not the news Manchester United fans wanted to hear and given the fact that they have already seen a £26 million bid rejected, one would assume they will have to do much better than that.
