There are some tense looking faces in the Football Transfer Tavern ahead of tonight’s Champions League action as Arsenal try to overturn a two-nil deficit in Germany.
The Gunners face the incredibly tough task of beating reigning European champions Bayern Munich on their home patch, something they managed to do last season.
Now before the match kicks off it appears that the press has been speaking to the one of the stars at Bayern about his long-term future which has left Manchester United supporters excited in the tavern.
The Telegraph report that Toni Kroos has now opened the door to a possible transfer to Manchester United by admitting that he would move to the Premier League, even without the prospect of Champions League football.
The German international’s contract is set to be the subject of a £25 million offer from Manchester United with his contract expiring in 2013.
Kroos, 24, wants a significant pay rise if he is to sign a new deal at the Allianz Arena. However Bayern are not interested in getting into a bidding war and that could see him making the switch to Old Trafford, who will be able to blow Bayern’s wage demands out of the water.
He said: “No decision has been made. It is no secret that the Premier League is a possibility for me.”
When quizzed if he’d move to club without Champions League, he added: “I will consider everything. If I should leave.”
Are United really in with a realistic shout of landing Toni Kroos this summer? We can’t see the top midfielder giving up on Champions League football so easily. Let us know your thoughts below.
