Metro have excited us all here in the Football Transfer Tavern with their latest claim that Cesc Fabregas is now a top target of David Moyes once more.
Manchester United are reeling with shock having seen top transfer target Thiago Alcantara leave Barcelona for Bayern Munich and are now chasing former Arsenal man Cesc Fabregas as a back up plan.
One issue for David Moyes is of course the first option on the player which is held by Arsene Wenger – who does hold an interest in bringing the £25 million man back to the Emriates Stadium.
Having secured his dream move to the Camp Nou, things have not gone exactly as Fabregas had planned and struggling to get in front of Xavi and Andres Iniesta has been a key feature of the Spanish international’s legacy at the club.
Now it seems David Moyes wants to bring the talented star to Old Trafford and give him more regular first team chances ahead of the 2014 World Cup to show exactly why he should have a starting place in his favoured central midfield position.
As one of our punters quips, Arsene Wenger may well have something to say about that and we could well have a transfer battle on our hands as the window and the British weather both heat up.
Would Fabregas really betray Arsenal fans by linking up with Manchester United and Robin van Persie this summer? Let us know your thoughts below.
