There are a few interested faces at the bar in the Football Transfer Tavern as our landlord tells us the latest gossip coming from Sky Sports.
The publication seem to think Manchester United could well land Wesley Sneijder.
As our punters note over a pint, the Galatasaray midfielder has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last few transfer windows now.
Since Dutch manager Louis van Gaal agreed to join the Red Devils however, that rumour has taken on some real credence and we think it could well be a firm bet for the summer.
Galatasaray were asked about the links and made it very clear that they would resist all offers until their valuation of the player is met, in which case he would be allowed to leave and they would be powerless to stop him.
The Turkish giants – now managed by Cesare Prandelli – believe that the 30-year-old is worth around 20 million euros and we wonder if it is wise for the Red Devils to pay such an amount for a player who is that age.
Manchester United fans. Do you think it would be a good idea to meet the asking price for Sneijder despite his age because of his relationship with van Gaal? Let us know your thoughts below.
