Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick is set to put pen-to-paper on a one-year deal to stay at Old Trafford, according to Perth Glory CEO Peter Filipoulos.
The Australian outfit were hopeful of luring Carrick to the club for next season but Filipoulos has confirmed the news in Four Four Two, via The Independent, that the ex-West Ham man is set to stay with United.
This emerging story has pleasantly surprised the Manchester United fans here in the Transfer Tavern who had resigned themselves to not seeing Carrick in the famous red ever again, after his contract expired following last season.
New boss Jose Mourinho appears to be making his mark already however and the central midfielder now looks set to prolong his stay at Old Trafford.
