The Daily Mail has a claim that could potentially cheer Manchester United fans up here in the Football Transfer Tavern.
The publication claims that David Moyes could well dip into the transfer market and bring in some new players this January.
At this point, one of our more depressed United fans notes that the club would be lucky if any top player wanted to join them in the winter, such has been their form this season so far.
The Red Devils have failed to not only challenge for the title, but are now dumped out of the FA Cup and are struggling to keep touch with the top four means that a star arrival is not exactly on the cards.
Moyes tried to be as upbeat as possible after yet another home defeat to Swansea City and noted: “I have said before that I will try to bring players in this month.
“But it is doubtful because of the way the window works. There is no point me hyping it up, because the ones we want are probably not going to be available. It is that, rather than us not wanting to do it.
“Certainly we shouldn’t be too reliant on Rooney and Van Persie.”
The manager continued by stating that there were ‘no excuses’ for the loss and the club ‘had to find a way of winning’.
A couple of our punters feel that could be by handing him his P45!
Will Manchester United actively look to bring players in this January transfer window? Let us know your thoughts below.
