And the Daily Express has revealed that Louis van Gaal wants to bring Juventus’ Paul Pogba back to Old Trafford.
Pogba was a target for the club when David Moyes was at the helm and it’s believed talks to bring the youngster back to the club then were at an advanced stage.
But it’s understood that van Gaal has been quoted £60 million for a player that left Manchester for just £5 million.
van Gaal begins his Manchester United reign after the World Cup campaign with Holland and Pogba, as well as a host of others, are on his transfer wishlist.
The Dutchman is said to have a £200 million war chest to go to battle with this summer with eyes also on Roma’s playmaker Kevin Strootman and German defender Mats Hummels.
If signed, Pogba would account for a huge chunk of that spending budget but it’s thought that the Juventus player would like to return to England to be closer to his brother Mathias who plays for Crewe Alexandra.
