The Daily Star has Manchester United fans looking up with hope on their faces here in the Football Transfer Tavern as they claim that the club are keen to land Brazilian international centre back Miranda.
The Atletico Madrid defender has reportedly become a top target for United boss Louis van Gaal who will make an initial bid of £20 million.
This is despite knowing full well that the defender has a £24 million release clause in his current contract with the Spanish champions.
As our punters note, the defender would be perfect for United and would make a massive difference at the back where United have struggled considerably this season – and also knows just what it is like to be a champion and a winner.
However, United and their manager Louis van Gaal might face a huge uphill task to sign the defender with Miranda himself claiming: “I think that it’s normal footballers to leave the club when they have found success.
“Staying at Atleti was the best for me and my family. I’m very happy to be at Atleti. I love Madrid and this is a great club.”
